VISION CARE OPTICAL SERVICES

Q: What are the most significant customer related trends you observe in the sector your company operates in?

A: Customers today value convenience, trust and personalised experiences above all else. They expect easy appointment booking, minimal waiting times and honest advice personalised to their needs, rather than being guided towards the most expensive option.

Many are also more conscious of eye health due to long hours on screens, seeking lenses that reduce strain and protect against harmful light. At the same time, they want eyewear that is stylish, comfortable and suited to tropical climates.

At Vision Care, we recognise that today’s consumers are informed, digitally savvy and experience driven. They no longer simply want glasses but expect holistic eye care solutions that combine technology, lifestyle considerations and preventive strategies.

Personalisation has become essential – each patient anticipates solutions designed for their unique requirements, from lifestyle specific lenses to personalised vision therapy.

Our focus is on delivering quick service, clear guidance and a wide selection of quality products so that every customer leaves confident and cared for.

Q: Hyper personalisation is becoming a necessity for businesses catering to today’s customers. What is your interpretation of hyper personalisation of products and services?

A: Hyper personalisation in eye care is about understanding the person behind the prescription and not merely the numbers on a chart.

Every individual has unique needs – a teacher’s lenses differ from a driver’s and a student who plays cricket requires different support from someone who works long hours at a desk.

At Vision Care, we take time to understand each patient’s lifestyle – how much time they spend outdoors, in front of screens or driving at night – so we can recommend lenses, frames and solutions that truly suit their lifestyles.

When patients return after a year or two, our team remembers their previous choices and tracks changes in their eyes, creating a sense of familiarity, trust and care.

At the same time, hyper personalisation is strategic. It’s about transforming insights and clinical data into meaningful, bespoke experiences. Beyond recommending a lens or frame, we design comprehensive eye care plans, therapy programmes and lifestyle specific solutions.

By combining technology, professional expertise and genuine attention, every interaction feels tailored, relevant and exceptional, ensuring our patients feel truly valued and supported throughout their eye care journey.

Q: Given the rapid advances in AI and other technologies, consumers are seeking transparency and data protection. How is this changing the modus operandi of customer service?

A: Artificial intelligence has reshaped the way we deliver care by improving accuracy, speed and clinical consistency. At Vision Care, AI supported diagnostic tools help our professionals detect eye conditions earlier and with greater precision.

These technologies also assist in selecting the most suitable lens options by analysing visual requirements, lifestyle habits and occupational demands, making our recommendations more personalised and effective.

What this means for customer service is that patients experience faster assessments, clearer explanations and greater confidence in the solutions we offer. Artificial intelligence does not replace our expertise but enhances it, allowing our teams to spend more time engaging with customers, guiding them through their options and ensuring they feel supported throughout their journey.

This combination of technology and human insight is now at the heart of how we operate.

Q: Are Gen Z consumers different from their predecessors – and if so, in what ways?

A: Absolutely. Gen Z is distinct in their expectations and decision making. They are digital natives who value convenience, speed and authentic experiences. They research extensively before making choices, seek brands that reflect their values, and are highly attuned to ethical and sustainable practices.

Unlike previous generations, Gen Z prioritises experiences over possessions. They want services that are personalised, meaningful and seamlessly integrated into their lives.

When Gen Z customers feel we are genuine, stylish and quick, they become our best ambassadors – posting their new glasses on social media and referring friends

For Vision Care, this means providing not only superior clinical care but also engaging digital touchpoints, transparent communication, and solutions that align with their lifestyle and values.

When Gen Z customers feel we are genuine, stylish and quick, they become our best ambassadors – posting their new glasses on social media and referring friends. Listening to them without being patronising has become a daily part of excellent service at Vision Care.

Q: What are the challenges faced by your sector, particularly in the context of pursuing customer service and excellence?

A: The optical sector faces several challenges in delivering consistently exceptional customer experiences. Rising expectations around personalisation and convenience require continuous investment in technology, staff training and process innovation.

At the same time, the sector must navigate rapid changes in regulations, digital health tools and data privacy standards – all while ensuring that clinical excellence is never compromised.

Another ongoing challenge is balancing accessibility with high quality service, making advanced eye care solutions available to more people without diluting the patient experience.

At Vision Care, we approach these challenges proactively; blending technology, professional expertise and a patient first mindset to continually raise the standard of care.
