Revolutionising real estate with a record-breaking 500 apartment and housing sales in 2020

Homelands Skyline – a leading name in Sri Lanka’s real estate sector, having established itself as a developer of apartment complexes and residential developments – recently announced that it has broken records and revolutionised the market by completing sales of 500 apartments and houses in a year.

These apartment sales were largely recorded among the property developer’s latest residential projects – viz. Canterbury Golf Resort Apartments & Residencies in Piliyandala-Kahathuduwa, which is based on an innovative concept and positioned to be the first Victorian style golf resort apartment complex in South Asia following its completion, as well as Elixia 3C’S Skyline Apartments located in the heart of Malabe and Ariyana Resort Apartments in Athurugiriya.

The events of 2020 left the local and global economies witnessing steep declines in terms of both activity and growth.

Recognising that many challenges in the local and international context are impacting every individual and organisation across all industries due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Homelands Skyline says it is proud to highlight this achievement in going above and beyond when it comes to achieving targets set for the year.

“By tackling the challenges faced over the course of the past year as a result of the pandemic, we were able to identify and expand operations to previously untouched areas in the real estate sector, withstand the storm of a major crisis and emerge from it successfully,” says Nalin Herath – the Chairman and Managing Director of Homelands Skyline.

He continues: “We would also like to express our appreciation for the undying dedication displayed by our sales staff. Because of their ability to acclimate to the digital transformation of our operations – by shifting from traditional to digital marketing in a timely manner – we were able to stay ahead of the curve despite the difficulties presented by the pandemic and its impact on the sector, thereby enabling us to achieve the milestone of 500 sales in 2020.”

“It is with pride that we acknowledge the efforts of our staff members who both efficiently and effectively adapted to the reality of the ‘new normal,’ and were able to drive home a substantial number of sales before the end of the year,” Herath asserts.

In addition to this achievement, he explains that as a result of low interest loans received by Homelands Skyline, as well as the tax and VAT exemptions on construction materials announced by the government in 2019, the property developer was able to offer completed apartments to residents at competitive and affordable prices compared to other businesses in the sector.

Over the last 12 months, Homelands Skyline also made its mark in the local real estate sector by serving as a pioneering figure in the introduction of the resort living concept to the country with Ariyana Resort Apartments, which is geared to redefine conventional residential living in Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, the property developer has also been able to incorporate a variety of value additions to its projects while keeping COVID-19 in mind – such as the Canterbury Wellness Center at Canterbury Golf Resort Apartments & Residencies, which has been designed to provide a suitable environment for optimal healing, complete with Western and Ayurveda medical care, and a spa.
