Hiran Hewavisenti ACA
A member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and Australia, and a former Senior Manager of PricewaterhouseCoopers, in Australia. Hiran has worked in England and Australia, with short stints in the United States. He is a product of Royal College and the City University London. Hiran’s hobbies include cricket (his religion), tennis, squash, travelling and work (LMD!). He founded LMD, in 1994.

Brian Emmanuel MBA
An associate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), Brian holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management – University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Brian is a member of a sub-committee at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Sri Lanka) and a long-standing Rotarian – he was the President of the Rotary Club of Cinnamon Gardens, in 2006/07. An old boy of St. Peter’s College, Brian loves music, sports and travel. Formerly of Commercial Stock Brokers, he joined the ranks of Team LMD in 1998.
Having spent over two decades in South-East Asia – in Thailand and Singapore, in the publishing industry – Anil relocated to Sri Lanka to join Media Services in 2009. He is an old boy of Wesley College, and enjoys the club scene and travelling around Sri Lanka, with the hill country being a favourite.
With a Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (SLIM) and CIM part-qualification, Tania has over five years’ experience in the publishing industry – and joined Media Services in 2006. Tania was educated at St. Lawrence Convent and Holy Family Convent. Being a lover of music, she hopes to master the guitar and drums someday (she likes banging on things!). Tania spends her off days cooking and baking, and she loves Japanese food.

| Kamal Saseedaran ACA
An ex-LMDer, Kamal returned to Media Services after a stint overseas, having worked at Global Morning Development in Oman. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), and has also worked at KPMG Sri Lanka and CA Sri Lanka. An old boy of Isipathana College, Kamal enjoys camping and hiking in his leisure time.

| Saro Thiruppathy
Saro has experience in writing, editing, project management, research (almost all focussing on the rights of children, women, labour and languages). Her foreign exposure spans Thailand, the United States, China, India, the Maldives, Pakistan and Nepal. With an enthusiasm to read and write, she is a strong believer in the ‘right to life.’
| Viloshini Dias
Viloshini is a product of Musaeus College and member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She counts several years of working in the UK, which includes a career at British Telecom (BT).
Yamini is LMD’s Contributing Editor and a regular columnist in the magazine.
Prishan is a graduate of the prestigious Hallmark Institute of Photography, Massachusetts (USA). He has over 10 years’ experience in commercial photography and motion pictures, having worked in New York and Colombo.
A student of Ladies’ College, Nicola has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Marketing, from Edith Cowan University (Australia). Media Services is her first workplace. She was selected to represent Sri Lanka at the Presidential Classroom Future World Leaders Summit, in Washington D.C. Nicola loves nature/wildlife photography, creative designing, handcrafts, art and cooking; and her hobbies include travelling and watching anime/j-drama/k-drama. She’s a passionate cat lover!
Educated at Asian International School, Ashwini gained a BA in Education from Gateway Graduate School, and a Diploma in Business Management from the American College of Higher Education. She joins the team at LMD House following stints at Alethea International School, Gateway College and Triad. Ashwini enjoys reading, travelling and writing short stories in her spare time.
Dananji Samarakoon BA (Hons)
A past student of Mahanama Maha Vidyalaya (Anuradhapura), Dananji holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colombo. Before joining the team at LMD House, she worked at Global Media Networks. Dananji enjoys travelling, and when at home, she chills out by reading and watching TV.
Once a marketer by profession, Isanka worked at Wijeya Newspapers, Ceylon Newspapers and Liberty Publishers before joining LMD. A past student of Devi Balika Vidyalaya, she has a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). When she’s not working, you can find her keeping up with her ‘to read’ list or volunteering with the Rotaract Club for causes she is deeply invested in.

Sakitha Garusinge ACA
A student of Ananda College, Sakitha has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Prior to joining LMD, he worked at Trillium Property Management & Services, Asian Alliance Insurance and KPMG Sri Lanka. A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), Sakitha enjoys tennis and cricket in his spare time.
Nadithi Gunerathne ACMA, CGMA
Nadithi joins the team at LMD House, following stints at Ernst & Young, JDK Global and Lankem Ceylon. A student of Lyceum International, she is currently reading for her CA (final stage) qualification. A resident of Homagama, Nadithi enjoys playing badminton, watching movies and reading in her spare time.
A resident of Wellawatte, Rageesha received her education at St. Clare’s College. Her previous employers include Mercury Institute of Management and RJ Accounting Solutions. Rageesha spends her leisure time with her two small children, and likes to relax to her favourite music in her spare time.
Thushan De Silva
A product of Mahinda College, Thushan is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and holds a BA in business and management. He counts many of years of work experience in the banking sector including stints at HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. Thushan’s leisure activities include playing cricket and travelling.
IT & CIRCULATION
Educated at Isipathana College, Pradeep has worked in many positions, in a number of diverse sectors – including restaurants, textiles, timber and jewellery. He has a thorough knowledge of motor mechanism. Pradeep spends his free time fishing, playing hockey, watching rugger matches and movies, and tending to his aquarium.
Selva has been a member of Team LMD since 2005. A product of Isipathana College, he is a gifted guitarist and singer. He likes playing cricket and spending time with his family, in addition to fishing and maintaining his home aquarium.
Educated at Hindu Senior College in Kandy, Thiyagaraja worked at the National Industries Company in Kuwait prior to joining Media Services. A resident of Dehiwela, Thiyagaraja likes to watch TV and has a keen nterest in current affairs.
With a Preliminary Certificate in Marketing (SLIM), a course in Quality Control and an Electricians’ course at the Vocational Training Centre, Lahiru has worked in the insurance and apparel sectors. He studied at St. Mary’s College (Dehiwela) and Lalith Athulathmudali College (Mt. Lavinia). Lahiru spends his free time listening to music, watching dramas and maintaining his aquarium at home.
Gayan De Silva
Hailing from Hanwella, Gayan’s work experience has been in the courier field, having worked at Mountain Hawk Express (FedEx) for many years. An old boy of St. John Bosco’s College and St. Aloysius Seminary, he was a member of the school cricket team.
A product of Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya (Payagala), Jagath has worked in the courier field, having been employed at TNT for many years, before joining Team LMD. In his free time, Jagath enjoys cycling and playing cricket with his friends.
Kusuma has worked in the apparel and hospitality sectors, including many years in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Educated at Parakumba Maha Vidyalaya (Rajagiriya), her free time is spent sewing, and making cakes and sweets. Kusuma enjoys gardening, and keeping the environment clean.

Having worked in diverse sectors, in various positions – including a stint at the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka – Anushan has been an LMDer since 2007. An old boy of Royal College, he loves theatre, travelling, baking and rowing – in addition to partying! Anushan is a wildlife enthusiast, photographer and stage actor, and an animal lover. He is a co-presenter of Benchmark, the TV programme compiled by Media Services.
