SAMSON INTERNATIONAL
EMBODIMENT OF GLOBAL EXCELLENCE
Armed with over 35 years of industry expertise, Samson International is a subsidiary of the renowned DSI Samson Group. The company secured yet another Gold award recently at the 31st National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) Annual Export Awards, solidifying its position as a premier manufacturer and exporter of rubber products in Sri Lanka.
This recognition as the best value-added rubber exporter in Sri Lanka in the extra-large category marks the company’s eighth Gold award in the last nine years. Securing Gold in the extra-large category was a commendable achievement – especially considering the stiff competition from industry giants such as Dipped Products (DPL) and Richard Pieris Exports.
Specialising in the production and export of moulded and extruded rubber items – including hot water bottles, jar sealing rings, rubber mats, rubber floorings, beadings and mud flaps – Samson International primarily caters to international markets.
A cornerstone of the national economy, Samson International has expanded its product reach to include new countries, making its mark globally. The company’s products are now featured in 32 countries worldwide, supplied to some prominent global supermarkets such as Aldi, IKEA, Coles, Woolworths, Harrods and Hyundai Department Store among others.
Additionally, the company supplies rubber and PVC-related products to the local market, spanning diverse industries such as food packaging, health and fitness, automotives, agriculture, marine and irrigation.
The key to Samson International’s success lies in its unwavering commitment to product quality and innovation. Fostering an innovative organisational culture, the company encourages creative thinking at every stage of the process, setting it apart from the competition.
With numerous patented products and designs, Samson International remains competitive in challenging market conditions. A trailblazer in Sri Lanka’s rubber industry, Samson International was the first rubber manufacturing company in the country to obtain ISO 9001 quality certification.
Emphasising sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices, the company holds ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, ISO 50001 certification for energy management and Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) certification for ethical sourcing.
Moreover, it possesses Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for manufacturing FSC certified rubber products.
Continuously striving to expand its market presence with an increasingly sustainable focus, the company believes that the future of the business lies in a sustainable outlook. Samson International strives to reduce its carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2025 in keeping with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Taking a giant leap towards achieving this vision, the company invested over Rs. 105 million on renewable energy in 2023 by covering all its rooftops with solar panels, which will contribute approximately 100 MW of electricity to the national grid.
As a company that considers employee satisfaction to be a top priority, Samson International actively works towards improving and maintaining holistic employee wellbeing to guarantee their workplace contentment.
Samson International is the recipient of BSCI grade ‘A’ certification from the Business Social Compliance Initiative. This is the highest possible rating in this category and a testimony to the company’s commitment to the level of care extended to its employees in terms of benefits, quality of life, environmental conditions and safety.
Amidst rising concerns about global warming and the impact of industrialisation on the environment, Samson International strives to position itself as a global leader in sustainable rubber manufacturing by helping to create a more eco-friendly world for future generations.
