Q: What was it about JIT that compelled you to come on board?

A: I was drawn to the Just In Time Group (JIT) because of its sterling reputation in Sri Lanka’s ICT industry. Its commitment to innovation, quality and customer satisfaction resonated with my professional ethos and aspirations.

Since its inception in 1996, JIT has demonstrated an impressive ability to adapt and thrive in the rapidly evolving tech landscape – growing from a four member team into the pioneering system integrator in Sri Lanka.

My decision to join JIT was fuelled by the company’s ethos of pushing the boundaries of technology to create innovative solutions that drive progress and transformation.

JIT’s journey is not merely about its expansion but also the strategic milestones it has achieved – for example, enhancing the technological infrastructure of Sri Lanka. With advancements in fintech, AI, blockchain, IoT, cloud, 5G and smart technologies, I see JIT as being at the forefront of harnessing these trends to deliver solutions that not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

JIT is also a wholly owned subsidiary of the Agility Innovation Group – the holding company of a growing ICT conglomerate with a turnover of more than US$ 30 million and several entities that are well-known for offering ‘best-of-breed’ ICT solutions and services to clients in Sri Lanka as well as overseas.

Q: And what value has JIT brought to the digital transformation of different sectors in the country?

A: JIT has been a catalyst in driving digital transformation, and contributed significantly to the country’s technological advancement and digital economy.

JIT has enabled organisations in banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), telecommunications, government, defence and other enterprise sectors to embrace digital change, optimising processes and enhancing service delivery.

In the banking sector, JIT has introduced digital and core banking solutions, anti-money laundering systems, ATM and payment switches, fintech solutions and real-time gross settlement systems to name a few, revolutionising the financial services industry.

And in telecom, JIT’s contributions have been pivotal in establishing robust and secure networks, implementing revenue assurance, fraud management systems, operations support systems and business support systems (OSS/BSS), data management solutions and other key applications.

By implementing modern e-government solutions, JIT has helped streamline government processes. Projects such as the national Common Card and Payment Switch (CCAPS), national ID and satellite-based oil spill detection are prime examples of how JIT has facilitated digital infrastructure improvements at a national level.

In defence, JIT has provided mission critical solutions that bolster national security and operational readiness, demonstrating the company’s ability to handle sensitive and complex projects with utmost proficiency.

JIT’s role in propelling digital transformation extends to introducing integrated platforms and smart technologies that cut across various industries, fostering an ecosystem where digital empowerment is a shared goal.

Through our work, JIT has not only advanced the technological landscape of individual sectors but also contributed to the national agenda of building a digitally inclusive society.

Q: In your view, what strengths enable you to make a strong contribution to JIT?

A: In my role as CEO, I leverage my background in technology to identify and implement solutions that foresee future trends. My strategic business approach comes into play in aligning these technological solutions with our company’s goals.

Revenue growth is always on my mind but I see it as being a result of doing many things right. From ensuring project success to leading my team effectively, it’s about creating a cycle of improvement and investment in our capabilities, which in turn fuels our growth.

Leadership for me is about bringing out the best in our people, and creating an environment where everyone can learn, share and contribute to our vision.

I blend all these skills to keep JIT moving forward as a leader in the digital transformation of Sri Lanka, crafting a future where technology creates new opportunities and value for everyone involved.

Q: What is your vision for the ICT industry – and how do you believe that JIT can help?

A: My vision for the ICT industry in Sri Lanka is seeing it become a regional hub for technological innovation, expertise and sustainability. The goal is to foster an environment where the ICT industry significantly contributes to the national economy, drives social progress and ensures a digitally inclusive society.

In line with JIT’s vision, its approach is to be not merely a service provider but a trusted partner that’s invested in clients’ long-term success.

We ensure that the solutions provided are not only technologically advanced but also align with the strategic business objectives of clients, facilitating sustainable growth and digital transformation.

Through this collaborative journey, JIT aims to help businesses leverage technology effectively, transforming their operations and enabling them to thrive in a digital economy.

By doing so, JIT contributes significantly to advancing Sri Lanka’s ICT industry, ensuring that the nation and its industries can meet global digital standards, and compete effectively in the international arena.
