Q: What are your expectations of the business environment in the next 12 months or so?
A: With the reduction in interest rates and increase in money circulation, people have a greater tendency to invest in real estate over the money market amidst the pandemic.

We have seen similar patterns even in developed markets such as the US, the UK and Australia during the COVID-19 recovery phase. Low borrowing rates in Sri Lanka have advanced this further.

Furthermore, people are now keen on the developer as much as the development in terms of financial stability, trust, credibility, long-term experience, clean track records and after sales service when it comes to purchasing decisions for real estate.

As a real estate leader with a strong household brand image, Prime Group caters to the diversified needs of the market with land in the best locations, housing projects, gated communities, and affordable luxury and ultra-luxury apartments.

Q: What have your group’s priorities been this year?
A: We’ve been experiencing a strong and positive growth trajectory.

One of our notable highlights has been attaining the status of a public limited company with a fully oversubscribed IPO on the opening day. Despite the pandemic, investors placed unwavering confidence in our organisation, reflecting our success story, which we’re proud of.

Furthermore, we will take every measure to fulfil the expectations of our shareholders, and work with transparency, trust, confidence and professionalism to provide them with the best returns that they anticipate.

We’ve completed over 35 apartment projects with five in progress and five to be launched in 2021, while having completed numerous gated community, housing and land projects. These include The Grand Ward Place, The Place Gampaha and Amber SKYE beachfront apartments in Negombo to name a few, while novel projects in Homagama, Kahathuduwa, Nuwara Eliya and Kurunegala await.

Q: In brief, what are the main challenges confronting corporates at this time?
A: The past year and a half have been challenging with multiple lockdowns due to COVID-19.

Therefore, construction has slowed down but we take all the necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our employees. We continue our construction to meet our commitment to deliver the quality output we’ve always promised our customers.

As a responsible organisation, we always think about our community at large in this hour of need and I am humbled to share that Prime Group recently donated three noninvasive ventilators (NIV) to the District General Hospital Gampaha and Base Hospital Marawila – a lifesaver for many fellow Sri Lankans – as well as numerous relief donations.
