Q: What value do awards add to businesses operating in today’s corporate landscape?

A: The current economic environment, marked by intense competition and rapidly evolving market dynamics, requires businesses to distinguish themselves. Awards serve as an important validation of the organisation’s people, products and platform practices. They are recognitions of excellence and consistency.

Sysco LABS was recognised with the ‘Best Exporter’ award in the ICT category at the Presidential Export Awards (PEA) for 2021/22 and 2022/23. It was a validation of our growth mindset and contribution to Sri Lanka’s export revenue. Moreover, it also serves as an indication of the impact that each of our associates has on Sri Lanka’s economy.

Q: In your view, how do award schemes help shape industries and sectors in Sri Lanka?

A: Award schemes are powerful catalysts for industry growth and define benchmarks that drive continuous improvement while promoting best practices and inspiring organisations to adopt global standards, which foster positive competition and growth.

The prospect of winning awards motivates businesses to be more innovative and pursue excellence. This pursuit of excellence elevates industry standards locally and globally. As a result, industries in Sri Lanka are benchmarked not only against local standards but also global excellence, contributing to the sectors’ overall growth and development.

Q: What do corporate awards and accolades mean to employees – both existing and new?

A: Awards and recognition received by a business have become a key consideration for both current and prospective employees.

For current employees, awards received instil a sense of pride and serve as a morale booster – validating their hard work, dedication and contribution.

When it comes to new and prospective talent meanwhile, awards are indicators of the stability and credibility of the organisation.
