D&I

The diversity and inclusion (D&I) agenda is instrumental in cultivating a culture that allows everyone at Standard Chartered to be themselves. This culture of inclusion is a critical lever to the success of its business, enabling it to be the best place to work and the best place to bank whilst contributing to creating prosperous communities.

The Country D&I Council is co-chaired by Ransi Dharmasiriwardhana (Head of HR) and Nishani Ariyawansa (Financial Controller), with Rohith Wijesooriya taking over as the 2022/23 Country D&I Champion – all of whom have a day job in addition to bringing the bank’s D&I strategy to life!

This cross-functional D&I Council comprises 80+ members who are split into six key pillars – gender, nationality and ethnicity, disability, generations, pride and childcare – all of which work together to build an inclusive and collaborative culture where diversity is recognised, celebrated and rewarded.

The team has been successful in driving Standard Chartered’s engagement and comradeship, and bringing fun back to the workplace. The organisation believes that what sets it apart is what keeps it together and the secret to its winning formula!

Here are a few pictures of the teams and events over the past few months.
