SAMPATH BANK ENHANCES CARE AT LADY RIDGEWAY HOSPITAL WITH ESSENTIAL HOSPITAL UPGRADES

Recognising the importance of maintaining quality healthcare facilities for children, the Sampath Bank Employees’ Union, together with the Bank’s Sustainability Unit, marked the Union’s 35th anniversary by supporting a series of essential upgrades at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Colombo. As Sri Lanka’s national referral centre and largest free paediatric hospital, Lady Ridgeway Hospital provides specialised care to children from across the country, making continuous investment in its facilities vital to delivering timely and effective treatment.
The initiative included the refurbishment of a blood filtration machine required for patient care, the installation of air-conditioning for the Physiotherapy Unit, the erection of directional signboards across the hospital premises, and the addition of child-friendly decorations to create a more welcoming environment for young patients and their families. The event was attended by Sampath Bank Chief Operating Officer Deepal de Silva, President of the Sampath Bank Employees’ Union Kalpa Jayasinghe, members of the Bank’s staff, and the Hospital Director together with hospital staff.
