Homelands Skyline takes pride in introducing a highly anticipated first in Sri Lanka, making its mark by positioning itself as the first real estate company to move into the digital sphere.

Nalin Herath – the Chairman and Managing Director of the Home Lands Group – says the company reorganised its resources to create a strong online presence and boost it in an effort to keep pace with the changing marketing environment.

A majority of the public’s search for houses online and having relevant information at their fingertips is of paramount importance. To this end, the company took the risk and invested in digital marketing.

The digital marketing team was established under the patronage of the Chairman and Lanka Jayasinghe – the General Manager of Home Lands Holdings. Along with Head of Sales and Marketing Operations Anushi Hettiarachchi, she briefed the team about the brand guidelines and marketing strategies implemented in the past.

According to Jayasinghe, Home Lands Holdings assembled a team that is capable of taking the company into the next phase once it realised that there was a growing need to create a solid online presence. Meanwhile, the company looks to predict the influence it will have on awareness and sales.

Additionally, she emphasises that other forms of traditional marketing will not be overlooked in Homelands Skyline’s efforts to shift its focus to the digital marketing strata – the goal is to ensure 360 degree market visibility on all available platforms.

The team is spearheaded by the Head of Digital Marketing Keith Madampage, who stresses that digital marketing plays a central role in modern-day business regardless of the sector. Furthermore, he reveals that the company expects to increase awareness and sales by realigning its market strategies and resources, and introducing value additions to the online marketplace.

He is supported by a committed team comprising Assistant Manager – Digital Marketing Thilina Guruge, Assistant Manager – Digital Marketing and Corporate Communications Mariam De La Zilwa, and digital marketers Anushka Kothalawala and Rumesh Prabath Udayanga.

Strategising about the use of social media has enabled the company to create a platform that helps it reach its target audience while generating a lasting impact. The team believes that Homelands Skyline has made a memorable mark on all online platforms within the span of a year.

The company looked to set a new trend in video-based advertising on digital platforms that feature real estate. This entails virtual tours that offer prospective clients a chance to explore properties through complete walk-throughs of premises – and this experience can be taken advantage of from the comfort of their own homes.

Home Lands Holdings’ development arm Homelands Skyline’s Facebook page earned the company the recognition of having one of the best social media presences in the real estate sector last year.

Additionally, the company won Bronze and Merit awards in the ‘Best Corporate Website’ and ‘Best Mobile Optimized Website’ at the BestWeb.lk 2020 scheme eight months after the website revamp.

The timely move into the digital sphere enabled the company to complete more than 500 sales of housing units and apartments despite the testing market climate. In Herath’s view, this serves as another first recorded by Homelands Skyline.
