It could be because of the misinformation on social media and various conspiracy theories. The government must inform the public better so that people will come forward and get their jabs. If they don’t do so, we will all suffer. One report yesterday (on Independence day!) said that all the covid deaths the day before were of people who hadn’t got their jabs on time or not at all. I cannot understand why people are hesitant even when the vaccines are free and freely available.
I totally agree, it is a personal decision and choice. If not we lose the fundamental right to choose. We are a democratic nation and we should safeguard this freedom. Personally, I have got myself vaccinated. This was my choice. But it cannot be forced onto anyone.
I would disagree with this because people who refuse to be vaccinated are putting others at risk. This includes children – many who haven’t had a chance to get two jabs and younger kids who are still unvaccinated. Democracy doesn’t mean having the right to put others at risk.
