The Brightest Colours Give Expression to ‘A Million Dreams’

Swendrini Gunasekara has been drawing, painting and sketching for as long as she can remember. She actively pursued art when she was a teenager and while at college, but had to take a break for about two decades, when work and motherhood became her top priorities. Encouraged by her family, and by the beauty of the world she saw around her, Swendrini has once again picked up her paints and brushes to follow her passion. Studying under Ms. Rhuani Rambukwella, she has slowly begun to find her own style and steadily built a portfolio of sketches and paintings. She has explored many mediums and many subjects in her art – filling her canvases with a million colours and a million dreams.

She is preparing to show her work, together with her nephew Eyan Pereira, at an exhibition titled ‘A Million Dreams’ at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery on the 28th & 29th of September 2019.
