GROUP LEADERSHIP UNITES FOR ANNUAL REVIEW AND FUTURE PLANNING

The DSI Samson Group recently concluded its annual group review and strategic planning event, bringing together leaders from across the group to set the strategic direction for financial year 2026/27 under the theme ‘Growth in Uncertainty.’

This event focussed on identifying opportunities for sustainable growth, strengthening collaboration across the organisation and aligning priorities to navigate an increasingly challenging business environment.

The occasion provided an opportunity to review the group’s performance during financial year 2025/26, celebrate key achievements and reflect on the lessons learned.

As one of the key events in its corporate calendar, the gathering brought together representatives from 32 companies operating across 15 diverse industries and sectors, highlighting the breadth and strength of the DSI Samson Group ecosystem.

Addressing the gathering, Group Chairman Uditha Egalahewa reflected on the organisation’s transformation journey and the strong governance framework that underpins its continued success.

“DSI Samson Group has evolved from a traditional family owned conglomerate into a professionally governed organisation. Today, the standards of governance, oversight and accountability within the group are comparable to those of the best professionally managed listed companies in the country. We are also a Fitch rated organisation, which is a testament to the strength and credibility of the group,” he stated.

Delivering the keynote presentation, Group Managing Director Kasun Rajapaksa outlined the strategic road map for the future, emphasising the importance of agility, innovation, and resilience in navigating an increasingly complex and volatile business environment.

Addressing the challenges of operating in a world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA), he highlighted the need to leverage the group’s extensive internal expertise, cross sector knowledge and collective capabilities to remain competitive amidst rapidly evolving market dynamics.

The occasion was further enhanced by a keynote address from Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Sri Lanka and Vice Chairperson of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Bingumal Thewarathanthri, who provided thought-provoking insights into the current global economic environment and its implications for businesses.

Beyond the strategic discussions and business reviews, the event also provided a valuable opportunity for networking and relationship building among leaders from across the group. The interactive sessions encouraged the sharing of ideas, experiences and best practices, further strengthening collaboration between companies and sectors.

As the group embarks on its journey for 2026/27, the event reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable growth, professional excellence and collective success, demonstrating that even amidst uncertainty, opportunities for growth remain abundant for organisations that are prepared to adapt and innovate.
