The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka, the nation’s leader in Human Resource Management, successfully conducted an exclusive executive panel discussion on “Board Readiness: Building Executive Capability” as part of its flagship CHRO & C-Suite HR Leadership Programme (Batch 01-2026).

Held on 25 July 2026 at the CIPM Members’ Lounge, the event brought together an outstanding panel of distinguished corporate leaders who shared invaluable insights into the strategic competencies required for HR professionals to excel at the highest levels of organisational leadership.

The panel was expertly moderated by Ms. Davina Kern, Chief Human Resource Officer of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, and featured Mr. Suren Fernando, Group Chief Executive Officer of MAS Holdings; Dr. Anoma De Silva, Group Chief Human Resources Officer of Wardena Venture Holdings; and Dr. Samitha Perera, Former Regional Director / CEO of the CBL Group. Their collective experience provided participants with practical perspectives on executive leadership, corporate governance, business strategy, boardroom influence, organisational transformation, and the evolving role of HR as a strategic business partner.

The event was further honoured by the presence of Mr. U. A. C. Obeysekera, Chief Executive Officer of CIPM Sri Lanka, and MrG. Weerathunga, Director – Professional & Academic Affairs.

The session attracted senior HR and business leaders representing leading organisations across Sri Lanka, including Chief Human Resources Officers, Heads of HR, Chief Operating Officers, Deputy General Managers, and other senior executives. The highly interactive discussion encouraged participants to engage directly with the panel, exchanging ideas on boardroom expectations, executive decision-making, leadership effectiveness, and the future direction of the HR profession.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, CIPM Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to developing future-ready HR leaders equipped with the strategic mindset, executive presence, commercial acumen, and leadership capabilities required to contribute effectively in the C-suite and at board level.

The CHRO & C-Suite HR Leadership Programme continues to provide an exceptional learning platform where participants gain direct exposure to some of Sri Lanka’s most respected corporate leaders while building the competencies needed to lead organisations through an increasingly complex business landscape.

Registrations are now open for the next intake commencing in August 2026. Senior HR professionals and business leaders aspiring to strengthen their executive leadership capabilities are encouraged to reserve their seats early, as places are limited.
