DFCC BANK AND ABANS SOLAR PARTNER TO LAUNCH AFFORDABLE SOLAR FINANCING SOLUTIONS FOR SRI LANKANS

DFCC Bank, Sri Lanka’s pioneering sustainable finance institution, has partnered with Abans Solar, a trusted leader in renewable energy solutions, to launch a first-of-its-kind solar financing scheme aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean energy nationwide.

This strategic partnership introduces DFCC’s specialised solar loan, designed to make solar power more accessible to households and businesses while reinforcing Sri Lanka’s national renewable energy goals. With concessionary rates and flexible repayment options, the loan is structured to empower more Sri Lankans to embrace sustainable living without the burden of high upfront costs.

Eligible fixed-income earners can now access up to LKR 5 million in financing, with fixed interest rates starting from 10.5% for a term of five years and repayment terms extending up to 10 years. By lowering financial barriers, the scheme enables customers to significantly reduce electricity bills, generate long-term savings, and contribute to a lower carbon footprint.

Aasiri Iddamalgoda, Senior Vice President – Retail Banking and SME, stated: “DFCC Bank has long championed the transition towards a greener economy, and this partnership with Abans Solar takes that commitment to a new level. By making solar financing affordable and accessible, we are helping more Sri Lankan families unlock lasting savings while contributing to the nation’s renewable energy goals.”

Ashan Gunathilake, Deputy General Manager – Energy Solutions, Abans PLC, commented: “At Abans Solar, we have always believed that renewable energy should be within reach of every Sri Lankan household. Our collaboration with DFCC Bank removes the financial barriers to adoption, enabling customers to enjoy the benefits of high-quality solar technology while reducing both their energy bills and environmental impact.”

Through this collaboration, DFCC Bank continues to lead in the area of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) financing, supporting the nation’s transition to clean energy. Abans Solar brings trusted technology assurance, offering high-quality systems backed by a reputation for reliability and innovation. Together, the two organisations aim to create greener homes, stronger savings, and a brighter future for Sri Lanka.

Customers interested in taking the first step towards energy independence are encouraged to apply for the DFCC Solar Loan through any DFCC branch or by contacting Abans Solar on 0112 222 888.
