Known to be two of the most competitive examinations in Sri Lanka, the Cambridge and National Ordinary Level Examinations are highly esteemed forms of assessment, which lay the foundation for students across the island to enter the next dimension of their education through the display of their academic excellence.

The immense dedication and hard work that students put into preparing for these examinations go beyond words. The much awaited results brought tears of joy to the students of Royal Institute as their monumental efforts reaped a harvest of delight for them.

Having gone through the challenging global pandemic and a major shift in the education system, educators and students were faced with the dilemma of adapting to online learning during their years of preparation for the examination. With genuine commitment and sheer hard work, students grabbed the opportunity to rise to the occasion and reflect the values inculcated in them by their alma mater.

With the expert guidance of educators, our students endured the challenging times and conquered new territories. Today, the students of Royal Institute stand proud with their excellent results in both the Cambridge and National Ordinary Level Examinations.

Students bear witness

Yesol Kim who conquered greater heights at the Cambridge Ordinary Level examination observes: “They say, ‘Climb the ladder, no matter the cost.’ This has been deeply rooted in my mind and it’s what led me to surpass my own limitations for the results I had sought. By making a consistent effort, developing independent problem solving skills, and most importantly balancing academics and social pursuits, I was able to make myself proud without having any lessons outside school.”

She adds: “Even throughout the challenging situations, the teachers at Royal Institute have provided immense support. They would ensure that all doubts were clarified and encourage me to reach further for greater achievements.”

Randinu Pathirana who obtained nine As in the GCE O-Level examination testifies: “I began schooling at Royal Institute from Grade 1 and was able to achieve this goal due to my teachers who worked with great dedication and effort, and helped me pursue this goal. Their constant support opened the doors to success and I am extremely grateful to them. I am a proud student of Royal Institute and hope to excel at my Advanced Level examination as I have done in the O-Level exam.”

Navida Naaditha who also received nine As in the GCE O-Level examination shared his heartfelt thoughts: “I started my journey with Royal Institute from Lower Nursery. I was able to achieve this goal because of my teachers. They gave us their constant support and guidance even during the hard times by conducting online sessions, and making sure that we achieved our targets. I am so proud to be a student of Royal Institute.”
