NEW ONLINE PLATFORM ‘DIVORCEECARE’ LAUNCHES IN SRI LANK TO PROVIDE CRITICAL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR THOSE NAVIGATING SEPARATION AND DIVORCE
COLOMBO, SRI LANKA – Today marks the official launch of DivorceEcare, a dedicated online platform designed to offer empathy, support, and vital information to individuals navigating the complex emotional storms of relationship breakdown, separation, and divorce.
Driven by a coalition of like-minded non-profit professionals and care-givers, DivorceEcare operates on three core pillars: Help, Heal, and Hope. The platform was created in response to growing statistics showing that a majority of those seeking psycho-social support are facing marital and relationship crises.
“Separation or divorce brings about incredibly complex situations, especially when children, custody, and maintenance are involved,” said Riley, during the launch event. “The intense emotions can lead to severe depression and anxiety. DivorceEcare exists to remind people that they are not alone.”
KEY FEATURES OF DIVORCEECARE:
- Accessible Support: A safe, online space available anytime, day or night, ensuring help is always within reach.
- Emotional Resilience: Resources designed to help users process grief, anger, rejection, and depression, teaching them to respond rather than react.
- Stigma Reduction: A platform that normalizes seeking help for relationship distress in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Global Vision: While rooted and governed by Sri Lankan law, the universal nature of these struggles means the platform aims to eventually reach out internationally.
The press conference, held today in Colombo, featured a walkthrough of the website’s supportive services and remarks from mental health experts on the importance of responsible help-seeking and emotional wellbeing.
“Going through a divorce can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to face it alone,” noted Lafir, who led the platform walkthrough. “We provide the space to rebuild strength and take steps toward a brighter future.”
Journalists and media outlets are encouraged to share the platform’s address with their readers to ensure those silently struggling can find the support they need.
