Q: How would you describe your company’s journey over the last three decades – including the most significant milestones during this time?

A: Häcker Sri Lanka’s story brought the legacy of German crafted luxury kitchens to Sri Lankan homes. A significant milestone was becoming the exclusive partner of Finco Trading, a leading name in Sri Lanka’s building and design sector. This partnership enabled us to showcase Häcker’s commitment to quality, functionality, durability and timeless design.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed a growing appreciation for modern fitted kitchens that enhance both aesthetics and functionality. Häcker Sri Lanka has been at the forefront of this trend, offering personalised design consultations and exceptional customer service to create dream kitchens for our discerning clientele. We have completed 200+ retail installations and 600+ in apartments in Sri Lanka.

Q: In your opinion, what is the role of corporates such as yours in reviving Sri Lanka’s economic and social landscape?

A: Corporates like Häcker Sri Lanka play a crucial role in Sri Lanka’s economic and social revival. We generate employment opportunities in various sectors, from sales to design to installation.

We also invest in German training and development programmes, equipping our employees with valuable skills that benefit both our company and the wider Sri Lankan workforce.

Q: How does your organisation view the talent in the country in the wake of the brain drain?

A: The brain drain presents a challenge but it also compels us to adapt.

At Häcker, we leverage flexible work models like hybrid options to appeal to younger generations who value work-life balance. We create opportunities for continuous learning and development, fostering a culture of growth within our workforce. And we offer competitive compensation packages and a positive work environment to retain top talent.

Q: What is the role of technology in your organisation and its operations?

A: Technology plays a vital role in our operations. We utilise cutting-edge design software to create 3D visualisations, enabling clients to virtually experience their dream kitchens.

We also leverage technology to optimise production processes and ensure consistent quality. For example, the laser infused edge banding technology and machinery from Germany that Häcker uses is the most advanced currently available in the global furniture sector.

Q: And what are your organisation’s plans for the future?

A: We are committed to continuous growth and innovation. We’re focussed on introducing new kitchen designs and appliances that cater to evolving trends and customer preferences, enhancing the customer experience by further streamlining our design and installation processes. We will continue to explore new eco-friendly materials and manufacturing practices to reduce our environmental impact.

By staying true to our commitment to quality, design and service, Häcker Sri Lanka looks forward to crafting exceptional kitchens for Sri Lankan homes for many years to come.
