DIMO proudly represents 31 of Germany’s finest brands in Sri Lanka, making this the largest German brand representation in the country.

In collaboration with globally acclaimed German brands, DIMO has contributed to elevating the quality of life through different sectors in Sri Lanka, thereby helping communities fuel their dreams and aspirations.

Q: German brands are celebrated for their quality and product or service excellence. How do these qualities play out in DIMO’s product or service portfolio?

A: Globally, German brands set the benchmark for quality and at DIMO, the group ensures that our product and service portfolio reflects this commitment to excellence. Through partnerships with its German principals in different disciplines, the group is actively reshaping daily life at different stages.

In partnership with Siemens, DIMO Energy contributed to building a large portion of the country’s power infrastructure. DIMO is also actively involved in implementing cutting-edge water projects for the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB).

Teaming up with its German partner KSB pumps, DIMO has successfully provided millions of households with access to safe drinking water.

Representing Rolls-Royce Power Systems (MTU) in Sri Lanka, DIMO is powering the country’s railway transportation through MTU engines that facilitate Sri Lanka Railways.

Furthermore, partnerships with esteemed German brands such as Siemens Healthineers, Dräger and Zeiss, as well as MIPM and Medtron, in the healthcare sector have empowered DIMO Healthcare to contribute to building a healthier nation.

The radiology equipment supplied by DIMO Healthcare together with Siemens Healthineers serves 525,643 patients per annum, while the operating microscopes perform 213,000 surgeries and over 1.5 million diagnostic tests a year.

And for instance, collaboration with the German agricultural machinery brand Claas has greatly contributed to expediting the country’s agricultural mechanisation initiative.

Our diverse product portfolio encompasses cutting-edge solutions from German construction machinery giants such as Bomag and Kaeser. These collaborations have played a pivotal role in developing the country’s infrastructure, ranging from express highways to port and airport development initiatives.

These enduring partnerships with renowned German brands have positioned DIMO as a provider of a product portfolio characterised by innovation, excellence, trust, reliability and safety.

As proof, DIMO has introduced the cutting-edge, all electric Mercedes-Benz EQ range to Sri Lanka, elevating local customers to new heights in the mobility sector.

DIMO Healthcare, in partnership with Zeiss, unveiled the revolutionary CT Lucia 621P – a ‘preloaded lens’ for cataract surgeries, offering convenience to both patients and surgeons.

Additionally, DIMO Healthcare introduced the nation’s first Siemens PET scanners with premium LSO-based detector technology. This technology provides many distinct advantages such as the availability of more precise information, resulting in higher potential for an earlier diagnosis and a more definitive treatment strategy.

The company also introduced the country’s first wide angle fundus phototherapy from Carl Zeiss, which provides greater coverage of the retina without dilation.

DIMO Energy implemented Sri Lanka’s first comprehensive grid tied renewable energy microgrid project at the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with German partner DHYBRID.

DIMO Energy, in conjunction with Siemens, successfully brought the country’s inaugural variable shunt reactors for high-voltage energy transmission, ensuring voltage stability during load variations.

Q: What are DIMO’s plans going forward?

A: Embracing the sustainability philosophies of esteemed partners such as Mercedes-Benz and Siemens, DIMO is dedicated to enriching its product portfolio with sustainable offerings, and deriving 50 percent of revenue from such products and services by 2030 as outlined in its Sustainability Agenda.
