DFCC BANK WINS THREE AWARDS AT SLIM DIGIS 2.6 FOR CUSTOMER-FOCUSED DIGITAL CAMPAIGNS
Three awards recognise campaigns that simplified access to home loans, responded to the changing era of AI-powered search and helped customers identify digital scams

Colombo, Sri Lanka: A home loan can feel difficult to navigate. The way customers find banking information online is being reshaped by artificial intelligence. And as digital scams become more convincing, customers need warnings they can recognise and remember.
Three DFCC Bank campaigns developed in response to these changing customer needs were recognised at SLIM DIGIS 2.6, receiving two Silver Awards and one Bronze Award.
The Bank won the Silver Award (the highest honour in the category) in the Best Use of Digital in Banking, Finance & Insurance Brands category for its campaign, “Breaking the Barriers in Getting Home Loans.” The campaign addressed common challenges faced by prospective homeowners, leveraging digital channels to make relevant information clearer, more accessible and easier to act upon.
The Bank secured the second Silver Award (the highest honour in the category) in the Best SEO/SEM Campaign category for its campaign, “Search Everywhere Optimisation: The Era of AI Impact on Search.” The initiative reflects DFCC Bank’s response to a fundamental shift in how people discover information online. Through its Search Everywhere approach, the Bank has expanded beyond conventional Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to embrace Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), AI visibility and Large Language Model (LLM) citation strategies. The programme focuses on making the Bank’s digital content easier for both search engines and emerging AI platforms to discover, understand and reference, while progressively strengthening DFCC Bank’s overall digital authority.
The “Don’t Be Fooled” campaign received a Bronze Award in the Digital Bravery category. Developed in response to increasingly sophisticated digital scams, the campaign translated common fraud methods into direct, practical messages that helped customers recognise suspicious approaches and better protect their personal and financial information.
Commenting on the recognition, Kaushala Amarasekera, Chief Marketing Officer of DFCC Bank, said, “Our approach to digital marketing starts with understanding what matters to our customers—whether that is navigating a home loan, finding reliable banking information or recognising a potential scam. These awards recognise how our teams bring together customer insight, creativity and technology to address those needs. As AI reshapes how people search and digital threats continue to evolve, we will keep strengthening both our digital presence and our communication to help customers make informed, confident decisions.”
The campaigns reflect DFCC Bank’s effort to use digital marketing as a practical extension of customer service. This means understanding where people encounter difficulty, creating communication suited to the way they search and interact online, and measuring whether the work produces a useful response.
The recognition for “Don’t Be Fooled” also reflects the responsibility financial institutions carry as more banking activity moves online. While digital platforms make financial services more convenient, they can also expose customers to new forms of deception. Clear and timely communication can help people identify suspicious behavior before financial harm occurs.
SLIM Digis 2.6, under the theme ‘Mission to Extraordinary’, marked a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s digital marketing journey by taking the platform beyond national boundaries for the first time. This year’s edition has opened its doors to international participants, creating a new benchmark for SLIM DIGIS and the wider digital marketing industry by providing an opportunity for Sri Lankan talent to be showcased alongside global standards. With more than 550 entries received, this year’s competition reflects the growing ambition, creativity, and maturity of Sri Lanka’s digital ecosystem.
