Colombo (News 1st): Personnel attached to the Central Cultural Fund made a remarkable archaeological discovery in Thoppigala. The discovery includes the remnants of a monastery complex and ancient statues.

Operations Director of the Central Cultural Fund Professor Sumanasiri Wawuge said epigraphs which dates back to the pre-Brahmanin era was also discovered at the site.
