Audrey Hepburn would have been in heaven... Instead of breakfast at Tiffany’s, she could have had breakfast, lunch and dinner atop Tiffany’s – every day of the week. Time for a script rewrite for the Palm Beach penthouse that sits above the iconic store that has brought tears of joy to the eyes of generations of women.
There’s no need to catch a cab or take the bus, or walk more than a few feet, to one of the world’s premier jewellery stores. The penthouse on top of Tiffany’s in Palm Beach is for sale – for a mere US$ 19.5 million.
Like Tiffany’s, some institutions never change and yet continue to woo the rich and famous. For instance, Palm Beach’s glitzy Worth Avenue, which is the epicentre of this ritzy town, is where the wealthy shop at Chanel, Gucci, Lilly Pulitzer and Tiffany’s – before they head out to their yachts, polo matches and dinner at The Everglades Club, where billionaires socialise with their peers.
It’s not too far from President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago or former Senator Joseph Kennedy’s family mansion that sold in 2020 for US$ 70 million.
Kean Developers is the new owner of the building, and it has turned the second floor above Tiffany’s into a residence of five bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms and staff quarters. Including the new upper level, the penthouse now occupies a total of 13,000 square feet. Notably, they have added a level to include a rooftop terrace with swimming pool, games room, bar and gym.
The rooftop also hosts a glass walled pergola, spa and waterfall. Located near the centre of Palm Beach, it is just a few steps to the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Intracoastal Waterway to the west, and the Golf Club of the Everglades across the street.
