Joining him was Mr. Dinuka Perera Chief Operating Officer, LankaClear.
Held on 29th March 2022 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, LankaPay Technnovation Awards 2022 aimed to honour the ‘Digital Superheroes’ in banks, NBFIs and FinTech companies for their thankless contribution to the country’s economy during the pandemic. The global pandemic nearly brought not only the entire country, but also the whole world to a standstill. To ensure that the local businesses and society could function seamlessly through these challenging times, the financial sector worked tirelessly alongside workers in other essential services enabling businesses and public were able to perform their day-to-day financial transactions from wherever they were, safely and conveniently.
Since its inception in 2017, within a short span of time, LankaPay Technnovation Awards has become one of the most sought-after events amongst the country’s financial sector. Complying with the government health guidelines, this year’s LankaPay Technnovation Awards had to limit the number of physical attendees and for the first time the entire event was live-streamed allowing key stakeholders to experience the event.
Speaking of the sponsorship, Mr. Subash Chandra Bowse, Country Director, BPC Sri Lanka and the Maldives commented “We are proud to have joined forces with LankaClear to recognize the best technology advancements made by financial institutions across Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is transforming at a face past and recognising the efforts of ecosystem players provides further motivation to make an impact on Sri Lanka’s day to day money management, the way they bank, pay and get paid.”
