BANK OF CEYLON LAUNCHES AI-POWERED INSTANT LOAN FACILITY THROUGH BOC FLEX
The new digital lending service allows eligible customers to obtain preapproved loans without visiting a branch, submitting extensive documentation, or providing collateral
Bank of Ceylon (BOC) has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered instant loan facility through its BOC Flex mobile banking application, enabling eligible customers to access credit through a fully digital process without visiting a bank branch.
The newly launched BOC Flex Instant Loan facility allows preapproved customers to apply for and obtain loans directly through their smartphones, eliminating the need for extensive paperwork, physical documentation, or collateral.
The service forms part of the bank’s efforts to expand its digital banking capabilities and deliver faster, more convenient financial services through its BOC Flex platform, which operates under an “All-in-One App” concept.
Using AI-powered credit assessment capabilities, it identifies eligible customers for preapproved loans, allowing them to complete the journey through few simple steps. Once the necessary consent is obtained, the approved loan amount is credited directly to the customer’s bank account.
Designed to provide greater flexibility and convenience, BOC Flex Instant Loan enables eligible customers to access financing anytime and from anywhere. The fully digital process combines AI-based credit assessments, instant loan approvals, and secure digital transactions to streamline the user experience.
In addition to loan applications and disbursements, the BOC Flex provides integrated loan management features, including the ability to make repayments directly through the platform. This allows customers to manage their borrowings within a single digital banking environment.
Introduction of the facility marks another step in Bank of Ceylon’s ongoing digital transformation, as the bank continues to integrate emerging technologies into its banking operations to improve accessibility, efficiency, and customer convenience.
The latest development follows a series of recognitions for the bank’s digital banking initiatives.
At the 2026 Digital CX Awards held in Singapore, BOC Flex became the first Sri Lankan banking App to receive international recognition. Bank of Ceylon secured three awards for its achievements in customer experience and digital banking excellence.
The bank’s digital initiatives also received recognition in 2025 at the National ICT Awards, the National Project Management Excellence Awards, and the LankaPay Technovation Awards, reflecting its continued investment in digital innovation and customer-focused banking solutions.
Bank of Ceylon maintains an extensive domestic service network comprising more than 2,500 customer touchpoints, including bank branches, BOC Connect agent banking centers, Digi Centers, automated teller machines (ATMs), cash recycling machines (CRMs), and cash deposit machines (CDMs).
The bank also maintains an international presence in India, the Maldives, Seychelles, and the United Kingdom, extending its banking services beyond Sri Lanka. Bank of Ceylon has been recognized as the only Sri Lankan bank ranked among the world’s top 500 banking brands and has also been named Sri Lanka’s most valuable brand.
With the introduction of BOC Flex Instant Loan, the bank continues to expand its range of digital banking services, providing eligible customers with a more accessible and streamlined means of obtaining and managing credit.
