AmCham Sri Lanka Hosts Awareness Session on the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit

Colombo, Sri Lanka – 27.03.2025 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham SL) successfully hosted an awareness session on the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025, the premier event for facilitating greenfield foreign direct investment in the United States

The session, which took place on March 12, featured opening remarks by H.E. Julie J. Chung, U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka, setting the context for an insightful discussion on U.S. investment opportunities. “The United States is open for business and full of opportunities for business leaders. The economic ties between the United States and Sri Lanka have room to grow, and today’s event is an important step toward making that expansion a reality. The United States has the world’s most attractive assets, and we are committed to maintaining a strong, open investment environment for our overseas partners. The 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit will be held May 11-14, right outside Washington D.C. in National Harbor, Maryland. The Investment Summit is the premier event in the United States dedicated to foreign direct investment. We look forward to seeing many Sri Lankan companies there.”

The session was delivered virtually by Ms. Carey Arun, Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Commercial Service, Chennai, who provided a comprehensive overview of the SelectUSA program and the SelectUSA Investment Summit, scheduled to take place in National Harbor, Maryland, from May 11-14, 2025.

Adding further value to the session, a past SelectUSA participant, Rajive Silva, CEO of Azend Technologies (Pvt) Ltd, shared firsthand insights about his experience at the Investment Summit in 2024. “SelectUSA provided direct access to state officials and insights into opportunities across all 50 states. Standing in Washington D.C.—where global decisions take shape—was truly surreal. The U.S. Department of Commerce and White House demonstrated commendable commitment to promoting investment.
