ADVANIA SRI LANKA
Q: How would you describe your organisation’s journey in the tech industry as it marks its 15th anniversary?
A: Our journey commenced in 2009 as a project team at 99x Technology, primarily catering to the IT managed services needs of 99x AS in Norway. In 2013, we were incorporated as 99x Services, a subsidiary of 99x AS. This move signified the beginning of Advania Sri Lanka’s journey to becoming a trusted offshore service provider.
Our transformation began with the acquisition by Advania Group and rebranding as Advania Sri Lanka. Today, we operate as an integral part of the Advania Group, a global IT managed service provider (MSP) with a presence in nine countries, serving clients across Europe and the US.
What started as a niche project with a limited scope soon grew into a key player in delivering IT services to Norway, driven by both technical excellence and the growing demand for outsourcing.
From a small project team to becoming a vital cog in the Advania Group, today we’re a standout in the local and global tech industry. This milestone is not only a celebration of our achievements but also an opportunity to reflect on the values, culture and vision that continue to drive our success.
Q: And how do you address clients’ technological needs?
A: The core of Advania’s success lies in the ‘Advania Way’ – a customer-centric culture rooted in our mission to ‘never lose a customer.’ This commitment drives us to deliver tailored solutions and services that meet both current and future client needs. As part of a global organisation that holds this value close, we’ve fully embraced this at Advania Sri Lanka.
Our brand promise of ‘the tech company with people at heart’ reflects our dedication to not only solving clients’ technological challenges but also caring for the people who make it possible – our employees, customers and partners. This commitment drives us to create innovative, flexible and customer driven solutions that have a real world impact.
Q: What are some initiatives you’ve taken to ensure employee wellbeing?
A: We believe that a happy and motivated workforce is essential to delivering exceptional customer service. Our employee value proposition – ‘our difference is you’ – reflects the commitment to empowering employees with decision-making power and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In the fast-paced tech industry, employee wellbeing is critical to maintaining productivity and creativity. We support this through competitive benefits, professional development opportunities and continuous learning programmes.
Advania Sri Lanka fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration and flexibility, aligning with industry best practices to ensure that our team remains highly skilled and motivated. In the IT industry, fostering innovation and growth is crucial. This is reflected by cultivating a culture of wellbeing, flexibility and lifelong learning.
Q: How does the organisation stay ahead of emerging technological trends?
A: At Advania Sri Lanka, we’re always looking ahead in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. With trends such as cloud computing, AI, cybersecurity and automation driving demand, we’re uniquely positioned to harness these opportunities.
Our young, dynamic and highly qualified workforce drives innovation, embracing new technologies and continuous learning. By equipping our teams with the latest tools, platforms and fostering a collaborative culture, we empower them to stay ahead of market demands.
Q: What ethical business practices has the organisation adopted?
A: At Advania Sri Lanka, sustainability and ethical practices are core to our operations. We’re committed to global environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, reinforced by our adherence to ISO certifications. Beyond environmental impact, our focus extends to the long-term wellbeing of employees, clients and communities.
Looking ahead, sustainability will remain central to our strategy as we continue to prioritise ethical practices that align with our ESG goals and foster sustainable value for all stakeholders.
Q: What role has Advania Sri Lanka played in shaping the IT managed services sector globally?
A: We positioned the organisation as a key offshore partner in the growing IT outsourcing sector, serving Norway, Iceland and the UK. As businesses increasingly turn to outsourcing for cloud computing, cybersecurity and digital transformation needs, we offer a range of models such as team augmentation, consultancy, ‘as-a-service’ solutions and project outsourcing.
Our competitive pricing model, driven by offshore capacities and a 24/7 operations centre, ensures cost-effective and high quality services for our clients. By leveraging regional time zone differences, we deliver enhanced customer support, meeting client demands around the clock.
Q: Looking towards the future, what opportunities do you see in expanding into new markets while maintaining a competitive edge?
A: We’ve strengthened Sri Lanka’s economy through IT service exports for 15 years and now we are entering a phase of growth, targeting new markets such as Australia, the US, Canada and the Middle East. Building on our success in Europe, we aim to drive direct sales from Sri Lanka while maintaining our customer-centric, innovative approach.
We remain focussed on expanding our global footprint, enhancing our offerings and strengthening our integration within the Advania Group.
Talent acquisition remains a key priority as we foster a culture of continuous learning to keep pace with the evolving tech landscape. As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we look forward to continuing our journey as a vital contributor to the group’s global success.
