A TASTE OF SWEDEN WITH CHEF CAROLA MAGNUSSON AT CINNAMON LAKESIDE COLOMBO
Colombo, Sri Lanka – October 2026 – This October, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo brings the flavours and traditions of Sweden to the city with two special culinary experiences led by Chef Carola Magnusson, renowned Swedish chef and Founder & CEO of Carolas Eko.
Known for her commitment to wholesome, sustainable cooking and her approach to bringing together tradition and contemporary culinary thinking, Chef Carola returns to Colombo to share a taste of Sweden through the much loved tradition of Swedish cinnamon buns and a specially curated Nordic dining experience.
The celebrations begin on 4 October, as The Lounge marks Swedish Cinnamon Bun Day with a special Cinnamon Bun High Tea Buffet. Inspired by one of Sweden’s most cherished traditions, the afternoon will feature freshly baked Swedish cinnamon buns alongside a specially curated High Tea spread. Guests can enjoy the experience from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., priced at LKR 5,000 nett per person.
The Swedish culinary journey continues on 16 and 17 October with The Nordic Table, a special Swedish buffet at 8 Degrees. Curated with Chef Carola’s culinary philosophy at its heart, the experience will introduce guests to a selection of dishes inspired by the flavours and traditions of Sweden and the wider Nordic region, bringing together simplicity, freshness and the distinctive character of Scandinavian cuisine.
Set against the lakeside setting of 8 Degrees, The Nordic Table will be available from 7.00 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., priced at LKR 8,500 nett per person.
Through these two experiences, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo invites guests to discover Swedish food culture in two different ways, from the warmth and familiarity of a traditional cinnamon bun over High Tea to an evening exploring the flavours of the Nordic table.
