The brand recently opened its second boutique retail space at The Shoppes at City of Dreams, extending its premium linen offerings to the destination’s cosmopolitan shopper.
From structured, airy shirtdresses to classic button-downs, breezy halter jumpsuits, relaxed wide leg pants and more, the ways to wear linen are endless. Whether mixed, matched or head to toe, Tropic of Linen captures a seamless, translatable, equatorial inspired ethos that offers customers chic options for work, a beach getaway, alfresco dining or anything in between.
The label’s understated neutral palette is offset by pops of colour – zesty lemon greens, citrusy yellows, petal soft pinks, burnt orange and the occasional bold motif. Tropic of Linen also offers a curated collection of minimalist jewellery pieces that add visual interest to its already polished capsule.
And the store’s natural, wind worn stone interiors and large sculptural rocks effortlessly reflect Tropic of Linen’s core fabric – linen with its naturally rumpled texture and lived in charm. In addition, its centrally located, larger-than-life tree and sunny skylight literally break the mould of a typical mall retail experience.
“I want everyone to feel like they can find something to wear, which is why we try to make our sizing and styles as inclusive as possible. Interestingly enough, we do not have a standard fit yet, which means our pieces are scalable for almost any body type to find something at our stores,” says Cofounder Minha Akram.
She adds: “We like to play with variety. As much as our collections include linen fabric, we offer other options as well. Occasionally, when I get my hands on an exceptionally beautiful material, even if it’s not linen, we choose work to with it. Hence, one may find a few surprising pieces in store!”
