UNION ASSURANCE AND NATIONS TRUST BANK

Union Assurance and Nations Trust Bank Mark a Milestone in Their Bancassurance Partnership with First Ever Joint Triathlon

Union Assurance, in collaboration with Nations Trust Bank, proudly hosted Sri Lanka’s first-ever triathlon in the bancassurance space titled, ‘Triathlon 2025: Powered by Trust, Driven by Assurance’. A novel initiative in the bancassurance sector, this not only marked a milestone in the bancassurance partnership between the two organisations but also led the way in reimagining how financial institutions engage with their customers. Designed to promote holistic well-being, the triathlon brought together bank customers for swimming, cycling, and running in a dynamic format that offered them and their families a refreshing escape from the demands of today’s fast-paced, digitally driven lifestyles.

The event commenced at the NCC premises with a 200-meter swim, followed by a 5-kilometer bike ride along the Independence Avenue and concluded with a 1-kilometer run ending at Independence Square. Teams of three, composed of bank customers, participated with each member taking on one leg of the triathlon. The triathlon concluded with a vibrant fellowship gathering at the 80 Club of Colombo, featuring engaging family-friendly activities. This final segment reflected both companies’ appreciation for their customers and their shared commitment to building meaningful, experience-centred relationships.

Wathsala Aluthgedara, Chief Partnership Distribution Officer of Union Assurance, stated, “We are proud to have organised this pioneering event in collaboration with our valued bancassurance partner, Nations Trust Bank. ‘Triathlon 2025’ is a testament to our commitment to delivering best-in-class value through strategic partnerships.
