Making history in Sri Lanka, the “Unanduwa” brand is elevating oud perfumes to the global stage, setting a new standard in the fragrance industry.

On August 29, 2024, Sri Lanka’s first commercialized agarwood perfume collection,named Makara, Swarnahansa, Panchanari, and Kandula, was launched under the brand name ‘Unanduwa’ at the Pintanna showroom in Nugegoda, highlighting Sri Lankan culture. This event marked a historic moment as it was the first time a brand with a Sinhala letter reached an international audience, making the occasion exceptionally significant

As Sri Lanka embarks on a journey toward an era of economic development, this remarkable creation, conceived under the vision of Deshabandu Kumar Dharmasena, showcases Sri Lankan culture to the world through four distinct names:

Makara
Inspired by the mythical figure from Sri Lankan tradition, Makara embodies strength, pride, and skill. It is crafted with a unique scent that symbolizes unwavering confidence.

Swarnahansa
This fragrance captures the essence of purity and femininity, drawing inspiration from the graceful swan. It blends the rare and pure essence of Silani Oud to create an unmatched scent that embodies compassion and beauty.

Panchanari
Inspired by the famous ancient Sinhala carvings, Panchanari reveals a fragrance of love and femininity. It is created with the rare and exquisite essence of Silani Oud, combined with the scent of jasmine.

Kandula
Named after the legendary elephant from Sri Lankan lore, Kandula represents strength, wisdom, and compassion. Its unique blend captivates the senses, offering a luxurious experience that transcends ordinary moments.

The launch of these unique and distinctive fragrances marked a significant milestone not just for Pintanna but for the entirety of Sri Lanka. It was a celebration of the island’s ability to produce and market a globally respected product, deeply rooted in its cultural identity. Pintanna oud is also planning to open more than ten showrooms this year and will soon introduce a range of new commercial oud-related products to the market.
