This prestigious tournament marks the beginning of a new tradition, designed to celebrate excellence in golf and create lasting memories through a shared passion for the sport.
In Division A, Noordeen Sethwala emerged as the Overall Winner, showcasing exceptional skill on the course. The awards ceremony and fellowship night at the iconic Grand Hotel Nuwara Eliya provided a fitting conclusion to the event, reinforcing its significance and fostering camaraderie among participants.
HNB’s decision to launch its first independently organised tournament of this scale marks a significant milestone. After supporting the Millennium Trophy with the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) for over 12 years, the bank has now taken a bold step forward by hosting the event at the renowned Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, a course steeped in history and natural beauty, further demonstrating its commitment to promoting excellence in golf.
Damith Pallewatte, HNB’s Acting CEO, presented the Overall Winner with a return air ticket to Singapore. Reflecting on the event, he stated:
“The inaugural HNB Legacy Open has truly exceeded our expectations. In addition to being a celebration of exceptional golfing talent, this event is also a reflection of our commitment to curating unique experiences for our valued Private Banking clients that enrich both their financial and lifestyle aspirations. We’re excited to see how this tournament, and others like it, will continue to create opportunities for our clients to connect, grow, and enjoy exclusive moments on and off the course,” said HNB Acting CEO Damith Pallewatte.
The HNB Legacy Open is more than a sporting event—it is a celebration of golf and the relationships fostered through the sport. Through its Private Banking services, HNB strives to offer personalised, world-class experiences, ensuring that each participant’s journey is as rewarding as their time on the golf course.
With plans for future editions already underway, the HNB Legacy Open promises to become a cornerstone of Sri Lankan golf, blending tradition with modern luxury and reinforcing HNB’s commitment to excellence in all aspects of its service.
