Shehan Karunatilaka Book Soirée at Cinnamon Red Colombo

Booker Prize Winner to participate in Dramatic Reading and Q&A

Colombo, Thursday 8^th December 2022: “It started ages ago, a thousand centuries ago, but let’s skip all those yesterdays and begin last Tuesday. It is a day you wake up hungover and empty of thought, which is true of most days.”

Cinnamon Red Colombo invites those that love a well-told story to an evening Book Soirée with Booker Prize winning author Shehan Karunatilaka. The curated evening packed with readings from his novel, Seven Moons of Maali Almeida will be held on Sunday 18^th December 2022, from 4pm onwards at Flavoured on the 8^th Level of the hotel. The readings will be followed by a book signing and cocktails at the rooftop bar Cloud Red.

Taking the audience on a trip through the journey in to the afterlife of Maali Almeida will be veteran thespians Jerome De Silva and Tracy Holsinger, and enigmatic author Ashok Ferrey. Renowned media personality Savithri Rodrigo will moderate the discussion. Shehan Karunatilaka will also personally autograph books which will be on sale courtesy of Sarasavi Bookshop.

The reading will be followed by cocktails and canapes put together by the culinary team at Cinnamon Red Colombo paying tribute to both the book and its author. With limited seating at 5,000 LKR for reading and cocktails, reservations are highly recommended.
