Eksath Wijerathne appointed as Head of Serendib Leisure

Eksath Wijerathne, the Group General Manager of Browns Hotels & Resorts PLC has been appointed as the head of Serendib Group Hotels. One of the leading hotel groups in Sri Lanka, Serendib Leisure hosts a collection of Luxurious hotels in key locations across Sri Lanka, namely, Avani Bentota Resort, Club Hotel Dolphin, Hotel Sigiriya and the Reveal Collection. Serendib Leisure was recently acquired by Browns Investments PLC (BI), the strategic investment arm of LOLC – Sri Lanka’s most valuable and globally diversified financial conglomerate. Browns Hotels & Resorts which is also managed by BI, operates diverse properties under the Browns Group.
A Fellow Member of CHSGA and a Member of the Institute of Hospitality, Eksath counts over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry having served many leading hoteling establishments in Sri Lanka in senior positions. Eksath is a qualified trainer in ISO and HACCP Standards training; also a qualified SATS trainer in Hotel operations. He has contributed in numerous ways to boost up and develop the professional careers of young and upcoming hoteliers in Sri Lanka. Currently serving as a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Eksath has served as the President of the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association. He was the Vice President of the Bentota-Beruwela Hoteliers Association. Eksath is a past pupil of St. Thomas College Gurutalawa and D. S. Senanayake College, Colombo 07.
