COLLECTIVE SPIRIT

Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless words to “be the change that you wish to see in the world” resonate deeply – particularly in times of crisis such as the 2022 aragalaya and ensuing economic meltdown.

This challenging period ignited a collective spirit to reject corrupt leadership and advocate for the welfare of the people.

In the midst of such tumult, LMD recognised the dire need to highlight the transformative potential of individual actions within society – and our campaign to Refresh Sri Lanka was born. The unique campaign served as a clarion call for every citizen to introspect and contribute towards the betterment of our nation.

Through Refresh Sri Lanka, LMD sought to inspire a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility among its readership and beyond. Guided by the principles of integrity and civic responsibility, the campaign emphasised the importance of professionalism, honesty, fairness, legitimacy and ethical conduct.

LMD championed the notion that profes-sionals are the jewels in the corporate crown and -recognised that the beauty of a nation lies in the integrity of its people. Upholding law and order in both spirit and writing is crucial, and the magazine underscored the significance of doing what’s right, regardless of the laws of the land.

Our call to action extended to cleanliness, ethical conduct and community care, urging individuals to dispose of waste suitably, pay taxes dutifully and act responsibly… even when no one is watching!

Through these tenets, LMD aimed to foster a culture of accountability, respect and conscientious citizenship.
