Non-industry managers to bring new expertise and perspectives to AIA Insurance’s PAC Metro

13th November 2019: AIA Insurance’s newly opened Premier Agency Circle (PAC) Metro Office at the AIA Tower, Colombo 7 is now hiring non-industry professionals with expertise and experience, so they can use their vast and in-depth knowledge to help customers with financial solutions. This is viewed as a bold move for a traditional industry such as insurance and is intended at pursuing efforts to create above industry standard financial advisors.

AIA’s CEO Nikhil Advani said “We see great productivity and leadership skills from Managers who come from other industries and our training programmes and disciplines ensure that they can excel at insurance and leverage their leadership / skills and experience from other industries they have worked in. Bringing in new talents is great for us because it brings new perspectives and new ideas which makes us better, stronger and adds diversity to our thinking.” He added, “We launched a programme to recruit people from outside the industry and it has already been successful. We want to expand this further and we are welcoming both Managers and Wealth Planners from all walks of life.”

AIA Deputy CEO and Chief Agency Officer Upul Wijesinghe noted, “AIA invests in intensive industry training both local and overseas for our new resources because PAC is designed to fast track our advisors towards achieving Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) membership. MDRT, is the highest qualification for Life Insurance Agents. So, this is viewed as a project intended at driving our many talented Wealth Planners to strive for MDRT, under the expert guidance of Managers recruited from other industries.”

AIA’s PAC office was opened with the objective of developing a fulltime Agency sales force with the focus on achieving MDRT membership. This is intended at motivating higher performance with improved category achievements as well as the development of a professional full-time Agency force to cater to Sri Lanka’s mass affluent clientele.
