NDB Bank was honoured to be recognised as the Official Banking Partner at the recently held Sri Lanka Society of Rugby Football Referees (SLSRFR) Awards and Fellowship event, hosted at Ariyana Reach, Maharagama. This event celebrated excellence in rugby refereeing, highlighting the invaluable contributions of the SLSRFR to the sport.
For two consecutive years, NDB has proudly partnered with the SLSRFR as its Official Banking Partner. This partnership underscores the Bank’s long-standing commitment to youth empowerment and the advancement of sports in Sri Lanka. By supporting organisations like the SLSRFR, NDB continues to champion the development of sports from grassroots levels to national excellence.
Speaking on the partnership, NDB emphasised its dedication to nurturing the next generation of athletes and promoting the spirit of sportsmanship. The Bank’s sustained efforts align with its vision to empower Sri Lanka’s youth and contribute to the growth of the nation’s sporting legacy.
The SLSRFR, established in 1953 with the approval of the then Ceylon Rugby Football Union (now Sri Lanka Rugby Union), plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of rugby matches across the country. With a rich history dating back to the first sevens match in Ratnapura in 1931, the Society today comprises 103 referees who oversee club and school rugby matches, ensuring fair play and professionalism on the field.
NDB Bank is proud to be associated with the SLSRFR, recognising its vital contributions to the game and supporting its efforts to elevate rugby in Sri Lanka. This partnership reflects the Bank’s broader commitment to driving meaningful change through the empowerment of communities and the promotion of sports excellence.
