23rd November, Colombo: Nations Trust Bank has committed to a five-year partnership 2024-2028, with Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) marking the continuation of the Nations Trust Golf Championship.

This collaboration aims to bring together avid golf players, offering them the chance to participate in competitive golf tournaments while fostering a sense of camaraderie.

The tournaments will be accessible to a large number of participants, including Nations Trust Bank customers who are members of RCGC, including the bank’s corporate banking and commercial banking customers, American Express card members, private banking members, and FriMi customers.

“We engaged with RCGC in response to the positive feedback we received from the golfing community following the tournament we hosted early this year. This partnership will allow us to offer an enjoyable experience to our customers and guests and we look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership,” said Chief Marketing Officer of NTB Sanjaya Senarath at a press conference held at the RCGC.

Captain of the Royal Colombo Golf Club, Dr. Rohitha Silva said: “We are delighted to embark on a long- term partnership with Nations Trust Bank. We believe that the tournaments that we host together will add to the enjoyment on the green for both professional and amateur golf players alike, and thereby contribute further to the growth of the golf sport.”

“RCGC has embarked on junior golf development. Today, a digital bank is going into a 144-year old club with a rich history which is moving from 1 January into digital operations. We are working on an app for benefit of members and players, not only in Sri Lanka but worldwide,” he said.

“Golf is one game which can bring the business community, business world and tourism in to Sri Lanka by having tournaments,” he added.

The tournaments will feature attractive trophies and prizes across various categories such as Men’s and Ladies, Masters and Seniors.

Special awards will include Longest Drive at the 8th hole, Closest to Pin at the 13th hole, the Nations Trust Bank winner and Overall winner of the tournament.

NTB will also host a separate junior golf tournament for children who are enthusiastic golf players. The junior golf tournament is in line with the Royal Colombo Golf Club’s junior golf development programme and will also create awareness and build national level golfers to participate in international tournaments.

The Royal Colombo Golf Club together with Nations Trust Bank hopes to bring new insight and an enhanced enthusiasm to flourish the sport of golf among Sri Lankans.
