Mobitel joins GSMA APAC IoT Partnership Programme

Tuesday, 28 May 2019, Colombo: Taking further strides in expanding its influence in the nascent Internet of Things (IoT) technologies space in Sri Lanka, Mobitel signed and exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding with the GSMA APAC IoT Partnership Programme at the recently concluded Smart City Summit & Expo event in Taipei, Taiwan. The GSMA APAC IoT Programme represents the largest IoT community in the region, with over 500 partners including mobile operators, consultants, developers, manufacturers, system integrators and vertical solution providers, amongst others and is set to grow to over 2,000 partners by 2020.

“The Asia Pacific region has been quick to embrace IoT technologies with mobile operators working closely with their partners to drive its further expansion,” said Julian Gorman – Head of Asia Pacific, GSMA. “This programme is designed to support the development of IoT by creating a regional IoT community that facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing, benefitting both the supply chain and their customers.”
