CERTIFIED RECYCLING FOR A CLEANER ENVIRONMENT

Sri Lanka hardly recycles its plastic — yet we import virgin resin to make our consumer packaging, while our used plastics pollute our beaches and rivers. GP Certified — the region’s first certification standard for plastic recycling — changes that, enabling consumer goods to be made with safe recycled plastics for the first time in Sri Lanka. It accredits recyclers, grades material and green-labels packaging — increasing recycling, cutting pollution, creating jobs and saving forex. This is immediate and practical. India mandates 30% recycled content rising to 60% by 2029, Europe 30% and Australia is already at 16%. Sri Lanka, with GP Certified, is fast catching up.
