INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION CONSORTIUM
International Construction Consortium (ICC) presents a collection of innovative construction technologies for Sri Lanka
As one of Sri Lanka’s recognised voices in the construction arena, the ICC has embarked on an innovative journey to support the nation with sustainable and homegrown construction technologies that will create transformation in this much-needed time of adversity.
Headed as “Transformation in Times of Crisis”, International Construction Consortium showcased their innovative construction technologies on 5 October at the Lotus Ballroom Shangri La Colombo.
The collection of construction solutions presented by ICC included:
- ICC Prefinished Timber flooring
- ICC Durra
- ICC Smart ECO
- ICC Roads and Bridge Solutions
- ICC Precast Vanguard
At the conference’s opening speech, ICC’s Chief Executive Officer Namal Peiris stated: “We are here because the Sri Lankan economy has been struck down by its worst-ever financial crisis since independence and created an environment which is totally unconducive to our businesses. Our business climate has been turned upside down, so we have to reformulate our strategies to be sustainable…Has it been a wake-up call to us? Has it been an eye-opener for us? The stakeholders of the construction industry, how do we take it?”
“Yes, these are the questions we have to ask ourselves. There’s a saying that every crisis contains seeds of opportunity, which we strongly believe. We the professionals of the industry must strive to identify the seeds of opportunity in this crisis and draw up plans to plant them, to water them, to nurture them and reap the benefits at the end,” Peiris asserts.
With the uncertainty that has hit the nation, ICC believes that every individual has a responsibility to do their part rightly for the country since it is especially, in times of crises that one learns the best lessons and finds opportunities in every problem to survive and keep going.
During this crisis as a leading construction solution provider, ICC thought they had a great responsibility to take the torch and shed a light on the opportunities they can create. ICC invites all to join hands to create an opportunity for local homegrown solutions to bring positive change to Sri Lanka.
