HSBC Sri Lanka named International Retail Bank of the Year
HSBC Sri Lanka has won the International Retail Bank of the Year award at the Asian Banking & Finance (AB&F) Retail Banking Awards 2019 held in Singapore, recently. This is the third time HSBC Sri Lanka has won the award, since 2016.
HSBC Vietnam and HSBC Bank China were among the regional winners to take home awards in the same category.
In the fourteenth year of awards, over a hundred exceptional banks from 37 countries were recognised at the awards ceremony for introducing groundbreaking products and services that successfully adapted with the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
According to Asian Banking & Finance, HSBC Sri Lanka was recognised for the bank’s unrivalled commitment to developing digital breakthroughs. “With over a 126-year heritage in Sri Lanka, HSBC ensures it stays ahead through relentless product innovations and an expansive branch network that’s the largest for a foreign lender in the country. HSBC introduced two-say SMS response technology for e-statement subscriptions, outward Global Transfers for Premier and Advance clients and credit card settlements through the Common Electronic Fund Transfer Service. It also launched a cashback credit card with Visa in 2018 that offers 10% cashback rewards on daily spend. The bank also provides an exclusive virtual shopping experience that creates a digital mall for customers to shop during busy New Year seasons and constantly offers unique lifestyle experiences through strategic partnerships and events.”
