The Montecito mansion where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle filmed much of their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan is on the market for US$ 33.5 million. Fit for royalty, this Mediterranean-style six bedroom house, which was built in 2006, spans 13,599 square feet and includes ocean and mountain views, multiple terraces, and a regal great room with a chandelier and arched windows. Meghan was extensively filmed here for the show’s interviews.
This home’s exterior includes two acres of lush grounds with romantic walkways and year-round flowers, soaring palm trees, accent vines, a vegetable garden, citrus orchards and even a hencoop for fresh eggs. Amenities include a pool, hot tub, bar, gym, game room and theatre.
There’s also a picturesque guesthouse, which is perfect for any king or royal relative who might drop by to enjoy Southern California’s excellent weather.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Montecito in 2020, and lived for a few months at Tyler Perry’s home before buying their own mansion for 14.7 million dollars. The six part Harry & Meghan docuseries, which is setting television viewership records, follows the couple from the early days of their courtship up to their much publicised resignation from the royal family and move out of England.
Montecito has long been a favourite escape for the wealthy. In 1953, John and Jacqueline Kennedy enjoyed their honeymoon here. It’s also increasingly drawing Hollywood types such as Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ariana Grande.
