Sri Lanka’s ‘Port City’ awarded ISO certification for quality management

CIFC (Port City) has received ISO 9001:2015 certification for the quality management system (QMS) adopted by its project company. This certification was awarded by TÜV SÜD PSB – a global testing, certification, inspection and training provider with 40 years of expertise in helping organisations achieve business excellence.

The certification process was led by Director – Capital Operation and Deputy CFO of CHEC Port City Colombo Michael Chiam, who commended his team for their efforts in preparing for the certification audit as well as implementing the QMS.

He conveyed their eagerness to apply the QMS, adding that “each individual department has set up, reviewed, revised and/or standardised their respective operational processes and procedures in order to self-review and self-detect issues that may come up. This is done with a view towards continuously improving themselves.”

Meanwhile, Managing Director of CHEC Port City Colombo Houliang Jiang commented: “Our commitment towards quality management is proof of the high standards we apply to every aspect of our operations. This certification is an important signal to every one of our associates, suppliers and future developers that we are committed towards achieving the highest levels of compliance and standardisation for the benefit of all. We will continue to uphold uncompromising quality at all levels of our operations.”

The team claims that it remains committed to providing a higher level of management, administration and supervision of the CIFC (Port City).
