Foundation of Goodness (FOG) together with Gourmet Goodness recently donated a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant for Gamini Junior School, a rural school in Polonnaruwa.

In an aggressive attempt to help address the spread of Chronic Kidney Disease which is a serious health factor faced for years especially, by the rural Sri Lankan communities, Foundation of Goodness has so far implemented 15 RO plants across the country that has brought relief to over 15,000 beneficiaries from 77 villages with constant supply of clean drinking water.

“We strongly believe the sustainability of the rural environment is fundamental to the development of villages as part of the evolving global community. The sustainable development of rural communities is at the heart of our unique rural development model in Sri Lanka. This is the first time our foundation implemented a RO plant specifically for school children and we were thrilled to partner with “Gourmet Goodness” who extended their hands to fully fund this project,” states Ananda Jayawardena, Project Coordinator, Foundation of Goodness.

“A minimum of 5% of the sales revenue made by “Gourmet Goodness” is given annually towards funding different community projects across Sri Lanka by the Foundation of Goodness. The implementation project of the RO plant at Gamini Junior School costed nearly 1 million LKR.  We take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude for our international buyers who made it possible for us to build and strengthen the local communities and uplift the standards of the future generation of Sri Lanka,” states Thaksala Weerasekara from Adamjee Lukmanjee Exports.

The Reverse Osmosis plant at Gamini Junior in Polonnaruwa was fully sponsored by Gourmet Goodness, the premium plant-based product range of the leading Sri Lankan exporter Adamjee Lukmanjee and Sons.
