ESCO
Q: Could you provide a brief overview of ESCO’s operations?
A: ESCO is a regional systems integrator with 13 offices across Asia and 200 team members. The group has had an indelible impact on the AV landscape as evidenced by MNCs favouring its regional presence and reputation for professionalism.
ESCO’s core competency is AV integration, which includes enabling workspaces with meeting rooms for communication and collaboration, preparing banking environments for customers to interact with technology and facilitating classroom learning or learning through applications. The group’s new division caters to perimeter security solutions to protect clients’ critical infrastructure.
The lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has presented opportunities for it to serve the community by way of enabling working from home remotely and video-conferencing solutions. As a partner of Zoom Video Communications, ESCO has helped many businesses set up such solutions.
Q: And could you describe ESCO’s relationship with ESCOTEC Ceylon?
A: ESCOTEC is the latest addition to the group, functioning as its extension in Sri Lanka. Based on its strategic position in Asia and tech savvy population, the group identified the potential to offer solutions in the country – primarily in corporate communications.
A symbiotic relationship is maintained between the group’s head and regional offices. ESCO serves as the operation’s parent company, enabling it to draw on support, expertise and experience from the region. ESCOTEC’s team works closely with local clients while being a global entity as part of the group, using its relationships with brands, manufacturers and customers, and best practices adopted over the years.
Q: How has ESCOTEC performed since its inception?
A: ESCOTEC has addressed the unique requirements of clients beyond established frameworks and continued to receive inquiries during the lockdown.
A unique innovative solution that ESCO is exploring with ESCOTEC is in-building telecommunication enhancement solutions, which is expected to be implemented across all regional offices in the future.
Q: Which gaps does ESCO look to address through its solutions?
A: With three decades’ experience, ESCO has learnt that when organisational growth transcends national borders, replicating success abroad becomes difficult due to working with different partners. We aim to bridge this gap to support clients’ growth, facilitating collaboration and communications with their workplaces.
The group’s mission is to enable investments in technology so it serves a wide range of clients from various sectors including hospitality and healthcare, as well as large corporates, MNCs and higher education institutes.
Q: How is the group coping in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak – and what advice can it offer other businesses?
A: ESCO is fortunate to be operating in this sector; therefore, it is able to facilitate businesses and distance learning for students among the other solutions it offers. This has become an essential service so the group is prepared for urgent deployments.
Furthermore, we are using this time to upgrade our skills to better support clients in the post COVID-19 era.
Businesses must act quickly to address customers’ needs and employees’ safety, while planning for the future by analysing how business will be conducted and tweaking existing organisations.
