EMPOWERING THROUGH VISION
Empowering Through Vision: Just In Time Resourcing & Consultancy Services and HelpAge Sri Lanka Unite for a Life-Changing Initiative.
Colombo, Sri Lanka – [Date] – In a striking example of corporate social impact, Just In Time Resourcing & Consultancy Services (JITRCS) partnered with HelpAge Sri Lanka’s ‘Gift of Sight’ initiative to fund cataract surgeries for underprivileged elderly individuals. This collaboration is more than just a sponsorship—it is a commitment to restoring dignity, independence, and quality of life for Sri Lanka’s senior citizens.
Cataracts are a leading cause of blindness among Sri Lanka’s aging population, leaving many unable to care for themselves or engage with their families. Through this initiative, JITRCS is helping restore not just vision but also hope and autonomy, enabling senior citizens to regain their confidence and lead fulfilling lives.
For over four decades, HelpAge Sri Lanka has been at the forefront of elderly care, performing more than 47,000 free cataract surgeries and reaching underserved communities. Beyond vision care, the organization provides free medical camps, livelihood development programs, and elder day care centers, offering a holistic approach to elderly well-being.
More than a corporate sponsorship, JITRCS’s participation was hands-on. The team of JITRCS visited the hospital, interacted with patients, and witnessed firsthand the profound impact of the initiative.
Tirantha Mahapatuna – Head of Business Development of JITRCS, expressed the company’s commitment to making a lasting social impact, stating:
“The loss of sight is not just a medical condition—it’s a loss of independence, confidence, and connection to the world. At JITRCS, we recognize the responsibility we have as a corporate entity to support the communities around us. Our partnership with HelpAge Sri Lanka’s ‘Gift of Sight’ initiative is a reflection of that commitment. By restoring vision, these senior citizens who would otherwise be limited and dependent are now experiencing —freedom, dignity, and a renewed sense of purpose. We hope this initiative serves as a reminder that businesses have the power to create meaningful change beyond the workplace.”
Senior citizens have contributed immensely to society, and it is our duty to ensure they receive the care they deserve. Partnering with HelpAge Sri Lanka’s ‘Gift of Sight’ initiative has been an incredibly rewarding experience for JITRCS.
HelpAge Sri Lanka Executive Director Samantha Liyanawaduge extended his appreciation to JITRCS for its support, stating, “For many of the 500,000 elderly individuals at risk of vision loss in Sri Lanka, financial and mobility challenges make essential medical care inaccessible. The support of corporate partners like JITRCS is invaluable in providing life-changing treatment and giving these individuals a second chance at independence.”
He further commended JITRCS’s commitment to social responsibility, adding, “JITRCS has set a remarkable example of corporate compassion, reinforcing the importance of businesses stepping up to drive meaningful change in the lives of those in need.”
By partnering with organizations like HelpAge Sri Lanka, JITRCS continues to set a benchmark for corporate compassion, proving that businesses can be a force for good. The company remains dedicated to creating sustainable social impact and uplifting vulnerable communities across Sri Lanka.
