STRENGTHENING GOVERNANCE PRACTICES IN THE CORPORATE SECTOR: Edotco Sri Lanka Partners with CIABOC to Share Expertise on Anti-Bribery and Governance

Colombo, Sri Lanka – July 23, 2024 – Edotco Services Lanka (Private) Limited (“Edotco Sri Lanka”), commenced a collaborative partnership with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (“CIABOC”) to promote anti-bribery and governance best practices within the corporate sector. This initiative leverages the extensive knowledge and expertise of Edotco Group in governance standards within the telecommunications industry.

As part of its nation building efforts, Edotco Sri Lanka hosted an insightful session aimed at promoting a robust governance standard amongst the country’s corporates. Held at the CIABOC Auditorium, the event was presided by Justice W.M.N.P. Iddawala (CIABOC Chairman), Commissioner Mr. Chethiya Goonesekera – President’s Counsel (CIABOC Commissioner), Commissioner Mr. K. B. Rajapakse (CIABOC Commissioner), Mr. W. K. D. Wijeratne (CIABOC Director General) and other officials from CIABOC.

Edotco Group’s Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance, Ms. Azzahraa Annuar, shared her expertise on institutionalizing ethical practices and establishing a robust governance framework. Ms. Annuar, a Certified Integrity Officer by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (“MACC”) brings over 20 years of experience in risk and compliance, offering valuable  perspective to the attendees.

To ensure clarity, key messages were effectively communicated to all attendees though translated segments. Edotco Sri Lanka and CIABOC are optimistic about the positive impact of this partnership and are committed to continuing their collaboration. Their shared goal is to of establish and reinforce stringent governance practices across the corporate sector, making a significant milestone in efforts to combat corruption and promote transparency and accountability in business operations.
