DMS Software Technologies and Rajarata University of Sri Lanka Sign Landmark MoU


Mihintale, August 28, 2025 – DMS Software Technologies and Rajarata University of Sri Lanka entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between academia and the corporate sector. The ceremonial signing took place at the University premises on 28th August 2028.
From DMS Software Technologies, the delegation was led by Mr. Lasantha Bogoda, Director and CEO, alongside Mr. Aruna Basnayake, Assistant General Manager – Digital Engineering and Strategic Solutions, Ms.Bhashini Malawaraarachchi, Assistant General Manager – Sales Operations, Customer Success and Training, Ms. Asithaa Munasinghe, Group Manager, Territory Sales and Marketing and Mr. Ishara Sampath, Technical Lead – DMSiTOS.
Representing Rajarata University of Sri Lanka were Dr. P.H.G. Janaka Pushpakumara, Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.M.B. Jayathilake, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Mr. K.T.L.U.S. Dayangana, Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management and Prof. Manoj Samarathunga, Director,University Business Linkage Cell.They were joined by other Heads of Departments and Academic members of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the students underscoring the broad institutional commitment to the partnership.
The MoU is designed to promote knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and industry exposure for students, particularly in areas of digital innovation, management, and hospitality. Both parties expressed their enthusiasm for working together to bridge the gap between higher education and the evolving needs of the business and technology sectors.
Mr. Bogoda, sharing his perspective, added, “We are delighted to collaborate with Rajarata University. This MoU reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly changing digital landscape.”
In his speech, Prof. Samarathunga, highlighted the University’s commitment to making the Tourism and Hospitality degree program more industry- and technology-oriented to better align with current industry requirements.
This agreement is expected to pave the way for joint training programs, student internships, curriculum development, and consultancy initiatives, benefiting both the academic community and industry stakeholders.
