In the world of business, success is not merely the result of individual triumphs; it is the collective effort of seamlessly integrated organisational functions that spread across the company from different business units to shared services.

A truly inclusive workplace goes beyond diversity quotas, embracing a diverse group of individuals who are actively engaged, nurtured, empowered and entrusted by the organisation to drive growth through different fields.

In response to the intricate nature of the modern work environment, DIMO has harnessed the power of collective intelligence to unlock the potential inherent in each individual across diverse business functions.

From human resources to finance, and IT to supply chain management, and corporate communications and more, these integral business functions might not always take the spotlight but their impact on overall business success is undeniably paramount.

Deputy General Manager of HR Operations Dilka Gamage shares how the human resources function drives the corporate strategy, focussing on alignment, capability building and engagement: “Aligning with the organisation’s vision and values as a solid foundation, we consider the workplace culture the enabler of our strategy. This includes attracting and retaining top talent, developing new core capabilities, and enhancing diversity and inclusion to deliver results.”

She goes on to say: “Employee engagement plays a significant role in our agenda, aligning with our employee value proposition of making work enjoyable and rewarding.”

Dinali Gurusinghe serves as the General Manager of Legal at DIMO, where the legal division functions as a vigilant guardian, overseeing the organisation’s operations and upholding its core values as it advances towards its corporate strategy.

“Our primary focus lies in ensuring strict legal compliance and providing practical, business oriented legal counsel at both the strategic and operational levels. We meticulously assess legal risks, offering guidance on effective mitigation strategies. Our commitment lies in directing the company’s journey towards a path of legal compliance and ethical excellence,” she elaborates.

General Manager of Digital Technology at DIMO Thushara Luvis emphasises the importance of technology in enhancing customer experiences and driving organisational change: “Aligning with DIMO’s corporate strategy, the digital road map has been set to drive technological initiatives to add value to business segments and cater to rapidly changing business environments. The short and long-term projects focus on upgrading decision support systems, and centrally driven business intelligence, building market responsive cost structures and introducing digital solutions to enhance customer experiences at all touchpoints.”

“The Corporate Communications unit is the driving force behind how a company’s reputation is strategically managed and perceived. By crafting consistent, transparent and engaging messages, Corporate Communications shapes the company’s image, builds trust and contributes to long-term success. Corporate Communications carries the responsibilities of anticipating and managing reputational risks and identifying opportunities to grow the corporate brand equity. This will enable gaining competitive advantage, talent acquisition and retention, partnership opportunities and crisis resilience in our journey towards growth,” adds Yohan Thilakaratne, the General Manager of Corporate Communications at DIMO.

Sharing her thoughts on the indispensable role of financial planning in shaping the organisation’s corporate strategy, General Manager of Group Financial Planning & Control Madurika Samarasekera states: “The Financial Planning unit works together with the business leaders to design and shape the corporate strategy and business plans, guiding the company towards risk mitigation, diversification and business transformation.”

She adds: “The financial planning sphere explores and evaluates opportunities, while engineering the margin and cost structures of products and services. Driving the delivery of plans formulated, implementing effective business processes and control mechanisms aligned with market demands are under our purview.”

Deputy General Manager of Financial Planning & Control, Supply Chain Erushi Ranasinghe highlights the synergy between the supply chain and finance in optimising costs and ensuring financial resilience: “The DIMO Supply Chain unit functions like a sophisticated neural network, seamlessly integrating supply and demand management dynamics. This integration extends beyond our organisational boundaries, encompassing a diverse spectrum of stakeholders and distribution channels inherent to DIMO’s diversified architecture. The collaborative synergy between the supply chain and finance contributes decisively to the company’s bottom line, fostering agility, resilience and sustainable growth.”

In DIMO’s culture, the contributions, presence and perspectives of different groups of people are valued and integrated into an environment for business success.

As a genuinely inclusive workplace, DIMO ensures that everyone has an equal opportunity to influence every part and level of the organisation, while being equally involved in and supported in all areas of the workplace. The impact that different divisions make towards business success also epitomises the collaborative work culture that DIMO endorses.

Developing world-class careers, DIMO fuels the dreams and aspirations of its employees, while cultivating a sense of trust, authenticity and positivity. This trajectory is what ultimately leads to the long-term success of DIMO as a diversified, sustainable and tech driven conglomerate that provides innovative solutions across a range of industries on a global scale.
