DFCC BANK EARNS PRESTIGIOUS RECOGNITION
DFCC Bank Earns Prestigious Recognition with Top 5 Honourable Mention among ‘Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka 2022’
DFCC Bank, one of Sri Lanka's leading banks with a 68-year heritage in both development and commercial banking, has achieved yet another remarkable milestone, having been selected as one of the "Top 5 Honourable Mentions" at the esteemed CIMA-ICCSL-Daily FT 'Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka 2022' awards and rankings. This accolade demonstrates DFCC Bank's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation and its positive impact on the communities it serves.
The 'Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka' initiative holds great significance, as it involves rigorous evaluation and assessment of companies across various attributes that reflect their holistic impact on society and business. After the initial financial review conducted by a team of CIMA members (CGMAs), a team from the KPMG team rigorously validates the scoring and handpicks the Top 20 organisations for the next round. In this next phase, the companies present their achievements and practices to a panel of judges. Notably, this interactive presentation format features the active participation of the respective top management teams, adding an exciting dimension to the competition. Judges independently score presentations by the top management teams, scrutinising elements such as talent attraction and retention, product and service quality, innovativeness, community engagement, and environmental, social, and corporate governance principles. The integrity record and anti-corruption efforts of these companies are also crucial factors that are considered.
Thimal Perera, CEO of DFCC Bank, commented, "We are immensely proud to be recognised as one of the top 5 honourable mentions in the Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka 2022 rankings. DFCC Bank stood out for its financial performance and the extensive value we delivered to shareholders, customers, employees, and the broader community in a year that put even the most resilient organisations to the test. This recognition thus signifies our dedication to holistic progress and our ability to thrive amidst challenges."
DFCC Bank's journey to this achievement has been marked by its strong position in the market and its recognition by local and international rating agencies. With a commitment to inclusivity, DFCC Bank strives to be "the Bank for Everyone," driving innovation and customer-centric initiatives that resonate with a diverse audience.
Esteemed guests graced the prestigious Awarding Event of the Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka, with Secretary to the President, Saman Ekanayake, attending as Chief Guest. Meanwhile, Katsuki Kotaro, Deputy Head of Mission for Japan in Sri Lanka, delivered the keynote address at the event. The occasion also celebrated the distinguished panel of judges, acknowledging their role in recognising and assessing the most admired companies in Sri Lanka.
As a bank deeply rooted in the social fabric of Sri Lanka, DFCC Bank's recognition as a 'Top 5 Honourable Mention' further underscores its dedication to advancing sustainable practices, fostering innovation, and contributing to the nation's progress. This accomplishment adds to DFCC Bank's impressive accolades and further solidifies its reputation as a true leader in the financial industry, championing excellence in all aspects of its operations.
